A balanced flow of postures and breathing designed to release tensions of the day, renew vital energies and restore a sense of well-being while improving strength, flexibility and concentration. All levels welcome. Each class will begin with pranayama (breathing exercises that quiet the mind and relieve stress) Sun Salutations (to increase cardio and circulation throughout the whole body) and each week we will explore a different theme or type of movement. These themes will include: leg strength and flexibility, balance, inversions, back bends, hip opening series and deep stretching (yin yoga). Alex is a certified member with Yoga Alliance® and received his teacher training from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre.

A great introduction to Hatha yoga. Students will explore pranayama (breathe control) simple and advanced asanas (postures) and develop ways of removing stress through relaxation and meditation exercises. While the benefits will include improving strength and flexibility throughout the whole body, the focus will be on coordination each movement with concentration and body awareness creating a well balanced and peaceful body and mind. Alex is a certified member with Yoga Alliance® and received his teacher training from the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre.
